RBC Seamstress - Banner Ads
RBC banner ad produced for Proximity Toronto. This particular banner ad was tricky as there were lots of vectors that needed optimization as it was coming straight from Illustrator. Not all illustrator files are optimized for flash. A lot of time was spent on the optimization phase to allow more file size for the 40kb restriction on all banner ads.

HP Printable - Banner Ads
A very cool HP banner ad where we created a cool looking ribbon effect that would wrap around the card. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to do because it would exceed file size using every conceivable technique I knew and I came up with some interesting tricks on how to do it but in the end I defaulted to one of my standard ribbon effects. Produced for Proximity Toronto.

The Melanie Iglesias Flip Book of Goodness
Creative way to show case your um... goods for a lack of a better word. I think I just found my new work video. How much work I'll get done is another story.

Gillette Brother 4 Baseball - Banner Ad
Baseball version of the banner ads. This was a tricky one to try and convey the sliding of the baseball player in different sizes just because I needed to keep the image quality up and I needed to bring in bigger assets to do the slide. I revectored almost everything I could in order to achieve this. Another toughy from the guys at Proximity Toronto.

Gillette Transitions - Banner Ads
One thing I teach to business owners about the web is getting testimonials or recommendations because it truly is one of the biggest factors that pushes consumers off the fence. Just the other day I was working my way to the cashier and I overheard a man mulling over the Mach3 and Proglide. His buddy walked up and told him his experience with the Proglide and he was sold. It's always a good feeling when you work on a project that is true to what they advertise and you're not helping to push more garbage onto consumers. Another project produced for Proximity Toronto.

Mitsubishi 0% Financing - Banner Ads
Mitsubishi Banner ads have always pushed the limits of the IAB specs produced for Proximity an ad agency in Toronto. This one is no exception with a parallax effect happening with the sky, snow bank and road moving at different speeds. File size needed to be diverted from the road which is okay since it's suppose to look gravel like and the compression actually gives it some texture. The text transitions in the flash has many overlapping elements with text breaking apart and recombining together. The voken is another story I should have put a check in place to make sure both ads are fully loaded before executing. It's not a big issue if you are an ad server with a big pipe that can push out a lot of bandwidth. You might have to refresh the vokens twice, after they have cached, to see the correct ad timing.

Terminator Rotoscoped
Amazing rotoscoping without any keyframe referencing as he crumples and tosses the paper into a pile. This man has a lot of patience. It's cool how he uses a slide cam rig to do some smooth pans across the room. Makes the video that more interesting.

Gillette Scent - Banner Ads
A trick I like to employ when working with banner ads that uses both regular and italic font sets, like in the Gillette ads below, is to skew the text anywhere from 10-15%. You save on file size because you are still using regular text but with the skew it looks like it's italic fonts. Keep in mind you can only use the skew when setting the text to "anti-alias for animation" because "readability" will just set it back to regular even though it looks skewed on the stage. Another great looking banner ad produced for Proximity Toronto.

Red Frog Online Guide - Website
Red Frog required an index that would allow users the ability to launch specific content based on the links in the account guide book. There weren't any requirements at the time just the usual ASAP deadline which is common place in the advertising world. I decided to go with flash as it would take the least amount of time to develop and would offer the quickest deployment without any complications. Last thing you want to do is provide a solution where you have to explain how to integrate everything. One of the reasons why I absolutely love Adobe Flash.

Fortis Electric - Website
Another successful website solution provided by Call4pchelp for Fortis Electric. Fortis Electric was looking for a professional website with the capabilities to update the content themselves. They also had a limited budget which if you're a website designer or developer isn't common to hear. The wordpress solution that was provided allows them all of the above. Due to the limited budget the client needed to be involved in choosing and updating the section images and content. In the end the client was very happy with the way the site looked as they were an integral part of the overal design process. Getting the client involved is always tricky business but in this case it worked out well. Training was provided through a youtube video to allow the client a way to remember, should they forget, how to update the website.
Another testament to the embracing of technology was the fact that we communicated via email through the entire process. Like most clients I work with we never had to meet face to face in order to accomplish the goal.

World Aviation - Website Launch
Second successful Wordpress website launch this week. Moty & David Zeharia from World Aviation Corp Toronto were very pleased with the solution that Call4pchelp has provided. This project was a redesign of their existing website which was dated about 7-8 years ago when flash intros were a big thing. It was a big headache taking this over from the original developer but I'm glad I did because there would be no way the client would be able to update anything with the previous setup. Tutorial videos were supplied to the client to assist them in the learning curve. A water marking system was already built into the wordpress system that allows the client to upload batch images and water mark them with their logo.
