Gillette Brother 3 - Banner Ads
These banner ads were developed by someone else using complex AS2 code to create the bitmap distortion you see when you rollover the flash button. My role was to make some updates to this banner build. The use of code to create the effect was the right choice but using it for everything else wasn't necessary. All the other elements could be done using simple timeline animation. Another project for Proximity Toronto

HP Big Color - Banner Ads
I didn't like how this ad was built. It was built using pure code and the resizing always takes even longer with code because you have to republish to see the results. You can't scrub the timeline. The effect isn't hard to produce using standard animation tricks. I figured out a way to resize code quickly without having to touch the code but as long as the banner ad is uniform in size. So I can't be using that same trick to make a 300x250 into a 160x600 I still have to play with the flash code at that point. Produced for Proximity Toronto.

Gillette Shave - Banner Ads
Interesting banner ad where the concept was that the "Tree" is longer when you shave. I had to photoshop the trees back to back to make it seem like a really long sequence. Add some msked shrubs to make it not seem like it's all trunk. Produced for Proximity Toronto.

Gillette Body Wash - Banner Ads
Chalkboard font and effect were used here. Actually if I remember correctly this font was way too big to be used. I had to recreate the font using layered pieces. Another technique in my arsenal of optimization tricks.

Visa Olympics Flame - Banner Ad
It may not look like it but this was a really tough one to pull off. I was given a video feed of a flame and I was told to make the flame loop and make it look natural. Anyone who's worked with flame will know it's unpredictable so I had to figure out the exact frame to loop it to make it look seamless. Needless to say the client was happy as always. Leo burnett or Arc World Wide.
